Future Found provides a continuous insulation layer beneath and around the slab, virtually eliminating cold bridges.

Cold bridging (also known as thermal bridging) occurs when parts of a building’s structure — such as concrete, steel or masonry — conduct heat much more readily than the surrounding insulated elements. These “weak spots” allow heat to escape (or cold to enter), reducing the overall thermal efficiency of the building, increasing energy use for heating (or cooling), and potentially creating condensation or cold spots at floor-wall junctions.
With our insulated raft foundation system, the slab and ground-floor area are completely encased in a continuous layer of high-performance EPS insulation before the concrete is poured. This creates a fully insulated thermal envelope beneath and around the slab, meaning that there is no break in insulation around the floor-to-wall junction. As a result, thermal bridges — which are a particular problem where the floor meets external walls — are effectively eliminated.
