Build-Lite recently completed a unique project, the external cladding of an old working man’s club that has been totally transformed into a purpose built £1.2m mosque, able to accommodate 2000 worshippers.
The Durul Amaan mosque, in Hulme, South Manchester, has been developed by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, into a much needed facility for the Region and one that the City Council fully supported.
Working closely with the architects, the task was to clad the existing building and new extension, and bring the old and new parts together to match the required design. The requirement was for a highly decorative and elaborate finish. Build-Lite were able to produce decorative arched heads, cills, fluted columns and band course.
This was achieved with the use of our unique Stone-Coat product. A revolutionary lightweight material that gives the outward appearances of traditional stone but is manufactured off site. Stone-Coat is an easy to install, lightweight and cost effective alternative to traditional building products.
